Overview
The Daimler Buses unit, which comprises the bus business of the Daimler Group with the brands Mercedes-Benz, Setra, and Orion, is the world market leader for buses and coaches with a gross vehicle weight of above eight tonnes. The global full-line portfolio is developed and produced in a worldwide network. Production facilities are located in Europe (7), NAFTA (3), South America (2), Africa (1), and Asia (1).
The product range includes city buses, intercity buses, touring coaches, minibuses, and chassis. Sales and services are available to customers in almost all countries worldwide.
The unit’s most important sales markets in 2007 were Latin America (51%),
Europe (24%), Mexico (14%), Africa (5%), Asia / Australia (4%), and North America (2%).
